Bad return experience

Not to be that one star review guy but using this washing machine and dealing with the subsequent customer service after realizing it was a lemon has been the worst experience Ive ever had with an appliance. After 5 months Ive had maybe one consecutive week where the washer actually worked. The module seems to be off as the washer runs fine water comes in water comes out and the cycle goes as it should but as soon as any clothes are in I get the IE error sign. Ive watched hours of Youtube tutorials sought help from plumber/handyman friends and have had no luck. Now Id be forgiving if this was a manufacturing issue and the appliance simply needed replacing but by policy LG has made the next steps of confronting the issue infuriating. Calling customer service lead to several guided attempts to help me trouble shoot and fix the machine myself. Even they said the setup was perfect. From that point I started to realize that representatives were clearly trained to avoid having to send out servicers. I would have to ask for in person support 2-3 times before a representative would concede. From that point 3 weeks would pass with periodic updates that LG was still looking for servicers but couldnt find anyone in the area. Im caring for a sick parent with cancer at my home and the amount of laundry needing to be done has been exponential as they go through treatment. After dealing with this for 5 months I just needed this problem solved. I called LG back and demanded an RA number which is required to return/replace the appliance through Lowes. Regular customer service staff literally cant give you the one thing you need in order to replace a broken appliance that costs nearly $1000 with a warranty. You need to talk to a manager who you will basically be waiting on hold for indefinitely I waited for an hour on several attempts. Finally I went to Lowes for some help and after they contacted LG we were told that LG will only provide the RA number if we provide the paper receipt digital proof of purchase wasnt good enough which we dont have. So at this point weve just bought a new washer from a different make with this broken one sitting in the basement while we continue to fight LG. I could probably make up the $900 wasted dollars if I spent the number of hours on the phone with LG and DYI attempts at work instead combined with the hundreds of dollars spent at the laundromat in the last 5 months. Totally insane business model to make it this impossible to return their own products that dont work and to make your own employees powerless in resolving customer issues. Ive enjoyed LG products in the past but I wont be anymore and Ill be sharing this experience with anyone I know considering an LG appliance.

Somewhat rough on clothes drain pump noisy.

This washer sems well built and it is rated highly. That said it has some rough edges that are difficult to live with. First it tries to wash everything like there is a drought. This machine tries to wash clothes that arent wet since it adds so little water then it adds a little more water and tries again. It is very hard on your clothes for this reason and frequently will damage t shirts towels or curtains unless you use the Water Plus feature. Something I almost always do. I had owned it under a year when during the drain process a loud noise would intermittently happen like the bearings of the pump were going bad it still functions but still makes the screeching noise when draining. Fingers crossed. One thing I dislike is the fact that this machine holds water after draining. The soap/softener tray will mold up in a week if you do not remove and rinse it after use. I usually leave it out of the machine to dry and insert it with the soap and softener prior to its next use. I wish these manufacturers would listen to what people want and take care of these issues in their newer models. This is not a negative review as this machine is far superior to the Samsung it replaced.

10 year direct drive warranty

I have other LG products Im happy with but not this one. Once a selection is made and the lid locks altering the process without starting over is seldom successful. It truly is a water saver as there never enough water to cover the contents and the item on top stays there throughout the entire cycle. As a top loader it seems to be a poor imitation of a front-loading machine. Trying to resolve these issues involves communicating with someone in the Philippines reading from a script provided by LG. This is a trend with product manufacturing. Purchase it here but good luck speaking with a U.S. company rep..

Mold Worst Washer Ever

Steer clear of this washer clothes tangle and knot up dont even clean well. Went to use afresh and it brought up black mold from the drum Had to scrub the tub with vinegar run through several cycles to get the tub clean. I called LG they wanted to send a service technician out $399 with other fees to look at it Never Again LG ..

This was an excellent washing machine for almost 5 years but then 2 months shy of 5 year mark it started to overfill and then overflow. Customer service was horrible. I was told they would do a complimentary repair my best guess is that the water inlet valve--the filter itself was clean but then when I was elevated to the presidential liason they told me I would have to pay for the repair bc of age of the machine and they could find someone to repair it--since we have had an LG dishwasher and now this washing machine that lasted less than 5 years I told them no thanks and will be purchasing a new washer :

I bought it a year ago to replace my agitatored top-loading washer. It has been doing its job in cleaning clothes. I love the big capacity to wash the big comforters and blankets. The only complaint I have is that it kept all the sands and dirt in the drum and not washed into the drain after I washed the mud room rug. It took me a long time to get my washer drum clean out of the sands and dirt.

White junk all over the dark clothes

Dont buy a washing machine with an impeller. Buy one with an agitator. This machine leaves white film and lint all over dark clothes. Everyone knows it including all of the stores and salespeople that still sell these. I inherited this when I bought the house and if I had known I would have demanded they take it. I have the matching gas dryer which is really fine works well seems to dry fast.

I absolutely would not recommend purchasing this washer. Ive owned mine for 4 years and it is rusting around the top of the machine. I have followed all of the manufacturers instructions and I always leave the lid open to allow it to dry out after use. I purchased the extended warranty and Ive had to have it looked at twice because the machine does not stay balancedwhen doing the smallest load of towels 4-5 or a single set of queen size sheets even though I make sure the items are evenly and properly loaded. The clothes do not seem to be getting clean no matter what I do. I am a fan of LG products but this washer is not up to their usual standard.

Runs great but flexible drain got chewed through and no independent repair shop will touch an LG for even the simplest repair. No way I can afford an LG specialist After 2 failed repairs I finally epoxied a PVC pipe to the drain and used a flexible adapter to moved drain pump to make it work. So far so good but next washer will be an American-made model that the local shops can fix.

Ive had this machine for just 5 years and got error code E6. Followed the instructions and called for service. After 30 minutes and two different CS folks a gentleman who was unintelligible said he needed a credit card and $400. I ended the call as I was never even speaking to repair person yet. I was simply following directions and calling for service. Why is it so hard to call for service? And then be told I need to front them $400?? Dug up my own LG authorized repair person and waited a week for them to come out. Once here they told me they needed to order a part mainboard I believe it was called had an open circut and it would be another week. As of August 17th I am still waiting and using a coin laundry down the street. My last washer a Whirlpool lasted over 25 years with out a hitch.

We bought this washer with an extended warranty. We are happy with the washer but it started leaking all over the basement floor a few years after the purchase. It was fixed but it took them a few days to get the parts.

This has been the most disappointing purchase. Ive had three service calls since buying this washer. Initially my navy and black clothing would have gray residue on them after washing. In fact I had to make sure to not purchase that color of clothing. Although this washer was highly recommended by a independent consumer group based on my experience I can not agree with that position.

This is a great machine we have it since 4 years now without any trouble. Since the last month were left with black flecks on the clothes and the tub like some kind of residue in the washer. Weve run the tub cleaning cycle with the Glisten washing machine cleaner but the problem remains. Weve also tried 1 liter of white vinegar + 2 tablespoon of bicarbonate with the cleaning cycle and the problem still persist. We just cant get rid of these flecks.

Cheap plastic parts 8/10/2024

I bought this washer after checking numerous sources and reviews. It cleans great. HOWEVER the intake valve has cracked twice as its apparently just cheap plastic parts. Im currently going to the laundromat while waiting for the part to come in AGAIN and will have to take off work AGAIN to get the repair work done. Im thinking a Kenmore was much more reliable.

We had extended way Our washer was leaking out the bottom. We contacted our warranty. They would send us a repair person. Never showed up Had to go to laundromat plus took off work for this visit. Called 2nd week would send LG person The LG person was in Florida were in PA. Couldnt talk to a person It was mostly fighting with a computer.

I will not buy another LG appliance. It is too difficult to contact someone to come out and repair it along with the hefty amount of over $400 just to get someone to come out and it is difficult finding a repair shop to work on them.

Dont Buy An LG Washing Machine

My wife and I purchased a Model WT7100CW LG washing machine two years ago from Wickford Appliance in Cumberland Rhode Island on the basis of the excellent ratings Consumer Reports gave to seven LG washer models. That was our big mistake. We never liked our new LG machine because it took much too long to wash a load of clothes and because the water saving feature meant that articles in almost every load never got submerged in the water. How are clothes supposed to be cleaned if they arent in the wash water? That was bad enough. Then after only two years of service the machine suddenly made a terrible rattling noise and stopped working I went to the dealer where we purchased the machine. The manager I spoke to when he heard what model I had purchased and what noise it was making smiled sadly shook his head and implied that he knew the machine was trouble prone. He said the machines were not designed to last more than five to seven years. When I said I had a service appointment with the LG Washer/Dryer Help Line he advised me to cancel the appointment because in his opinion that model was not worth the $401 I would be charged to fix it. He then implied that perhaps he could do something for me if I bought a new machine from Wickford Appliances but that promise came to nothing. Strangely without my asking LG then sent me a new plastic drain pump by UPS as if someone could tell from my telephone complaint exactly what was wrong with the machine. I believe that what went wrong is a chronic problem with that model and your customers should not be paying to fix an obvious defect. In 54 years of marriage we had owned only two washing machines one of which was a Maytag that worked for 30 years. Last week we purchased a new Maytag washer from Lowes sand had the now useless LG lemon removed from our home. Im retired on a fixed income and have better things to spend my money on than a poorly built appliances not made to last more than a few years. Your top management and those who do their bidding should be ashamed of themselves for putting such an unreliable product on the market. Rest assured I will never buy an LG product again and I plan to tell anyone who will listen about the bad experience I had with your machine. I plan to send this same evaluation to Consumer Reports so they can be warned about the poor reliability of your highly rated machine. Emanuel G. Terezakis

Repair Needed

My washer wasnt working and it was under warranty thank God. Rudy was my tech and the first visit probably wasnt pleasant for him. I was irritated that the part didnt make it in time for his visit. I know it wasnt his fault. He was VERY patient with me and didnt react to my irritation. He said he would reach out to me when the part came in and he did. He replaced the part and Im a happy camper Im sorry for being irritated.

Love the LG fridge but an absolute no on Washer

I have an LG frig that is awesome so when it was time for a new washer and dryer it was a no brainer. The problem is I am on my third pulsator due to a thing called scruda nasty dirty grunge that gets in the pulsator and eventually begins to come up in the wash. You can easily get the pulsator out of the washer but getting a pulsator clean is another difficult task. We just bought another new pulsator. The first time it happened I called LG and the very nice service person said it was due to fabric softener. Also said I was using the wrong tub cleaner.to use Oxi instead of Affresh. I stopped using any fabric softener and switched to Oxi. Within a year it happened again. Replaced pulsatorwithin a year it happened again. 3rd At this rate I will spend more money on pulsators than I spent on the washer The rest of the review would be very biasedI dont know if the washer even gets clothes clean at this point since I am focused on the scrud issue.

For the most part this machine does an OK job. Every time I take clothing out it is completely twisted around all the other items and I have to untangle and shake out everything. Periodically it eats clothing. I am very careful to not overload the machine and it still shred things.

Skip the Impeller - Buy an Agitator Machine

Clothes are practically tied in knots after washing. They are not as clean as when washed in a machine with an agitator. Yesterday a cloth shower curtain that I wash all the time was pulled under the impeller and now has jammed the machine.

Ive had this product for 3 years and it has worked wonderfully. In a week of carelessness I left the collar stays in my shirt. They unfortunately made their way to the drain pump and jammed it. Initiating the request for repair and and requesting a technician was easy. The scheduling was easy as well. The technician communicated his arrival with enough time to not be too disruptive to my day. He diagnosed the drain pump as well as the touch screen being defective. He ordered the parts came by the next day installed them tested them out and was out in about 2 hours. The technician was professional and through. I am very pleased with the service from begging to end.

Bought both washer dryer just over a year ago. The more time goes its loud doesnt agitate the clothes creeps when shaking from spinning. My parents got a front load LG washer/dryer about 4 years ago. Not one problem with it it is quiet works great. So I bought the top load because the front load was too expensive for me. Big mistake. Guess you have to have that extra $ to buy the good quality of LG appliances I have sent a complaint in with video pics like they asked me to waiting to hear back. I didnt buy the extended warranty cannot afford to get them fixed if needed. Would never recommend LG to anyone unless they spend the extra $ for the good quality of LG product Should have kept my 15 year old Maytag. Better quality than this

Excellent machine. Gets my clothes very clean and in half the time of my old front load washing machine.Easy to use and I really like all the settings. It has a very large capacity. I can easily wash a king size comforter or two queen size bed pillows.

This washer was new and came with the new house the builder bought installed it in July 2020 its just 2 of us older people. It was a nice washer til the gear box went out no extended warranty. So so disappointed. The matching dryer works fine fingers crossed it lasts awhile longer.

The good thing about my washer it sings and it looks nice. My washer is about two years old and within a month especially in the delicate cycle anything medium to dark colors would have lint streaks on them. I would have to wait till they were dry and take a stiff brush and try to get it off. I called customer service and the lady asked if I was using the cleaning cycle. No I told her and she said I would have to use it after I washed clothes. Now I am 78 years old and needless to say I have been washing clothes most of my life. Never ever did I have to wash out the washer to prevent lint spreading on my clothes. Plus I live in California water shortage I started using the clean cycle but it never stopped this terrible lint problems on my good clothes. Its beyond frustrating I wrote several emails saying how dissatisfied with this washer and I did get a response. They sent a very nice repairman out to my home and he checked everything and said my washer was spotless because I was doing everything correct. The problem is with that cheap stupid plastic cap at the bottom. It has three slit in the cap and the lint collects in the cap. When the washer spins to remove water it throws out the lint into the clothes because of the stupid design. Why doesnt it just screw down with no slits dumb design. Your washer is even on YouTube talking about the lint problems in this washer. The repairman suggested I would have to remove the cap and remove the lint that collects in the cap but be careful because the cheap plastic cap can break really. So keep a few spare caps on hand really cost $20. Now I cant afford to buy another machine so I am stuck with this awful washer. I would give anything to get my money back. Would I ever recommend this washer hell no. My daughter and a few other friends asked me would I recommend this washer and I said absolutely not. Please do your customers a favor and fix this problem. For me it too late unfortunately. I would like to seal the slits in the cap to stop this problem but not sure what that would cause. I would appreciate very much if some tech would email me with a solution if there is one or take this stupid washer away and get my money back. A very unhappy customer Sandra Case

Washer had a defective control panel from factory and only ran sporadically. It took 3 service calls and $500+ to finally get it right. Customer service made all kinds of apologizes but ultimately gave up on fixing the problem. Nice washer when it runs JD Westerville OH

We have had a couple issues. Clothes were not getting real clean until we used five different cycles for Wash tub clean with affresh. Also washer did not drain properly on one cycle. And flooded our laundry. This only happened once and we cannot figure out why.
